Verboden Festival

VERBODEN, Vancouver’s only multi-day Darkwave music festival is back for 2018 featuring over 30 bands at 3 unique venues! 

Verboden 2018 runs April 13-15 and will showcase over 30 post-punk, darkwave, rock, industrial, synthpop acts and DJ’s from across the globe. Verboden will be hosted at three unique venues, The Waldorf, 333 and The Astoria. 2018 marks the festival’s third consecutive year and was founded by Robert Katerwol in 2015. Verboden is 100% DIY, artists driven and community run

International acts include VOWWS (Sidney) Soft Riot (Glasgow) Cervello Elettronico (New York) and Charlatan (Seattle). Local artists include Spectres, Ritual Veil, Koban, Mode Moderne, Ivory Towers, Freak Dream, Ghost Twin and more.

This years festival pre party will be held at the Astoria on April 12. The lineup features past Verboden alumni including ACTORS, Weird Candle and Puritans as well as international acts SASHCLOTH & AXES (Los Angelas) and Diesel Dudes (Oakland).

Verboden 2018 is a SAFE SPACE. We have zero tolerance for toxic misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, racist or ableist behaviour. If you have any issues PLEASE bring it up with event staff or with Verboden Volunteers!

Verboden will be taking place on unceded coast salish territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Sníchim-speaking Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓- and Halq’eméylem-speaking Stó:lō peoples and the ceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking sc̓əwaθən (Tsawwassen) Nation.

The 3 Day Verboden 2018 Festival Pass gives you access to ALL official Verboden events on April 13, 14 and 15. Also included is half-price admission to the pre-party April 12 and late-night after party April 14. Single venue entry starts at $10 and the Festival Pass is only $40.
