THANK YOU!

It’s been a week since day one of Verboden 2024, and we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone involved who made this year’s festival possible. Verboden is artist-run and volunteer-driven, and it simply wouldn’t happen without the performers, volunteers, organizers, venue staff and operators, photographers, DJs, and most importantly, the community that comes together year after year to support this dream.

This post can’t possibly cover the amount of talent needed to make this event work, but we wanted to quickly touch on a few people who made this happen.

First of all, a big thank you to Annie, Sarah, Alan, Nolan, Gaby, Andrew, Chris, Sarah, Han, and all the other volunteers responsible for driving, merchandising, hosting, hauling, and more – impossible without you. Thank you to Trilliam Gibson for again setting the atmosphere with his non-stop visuals, and Ryan Clark of @rc for documenting the entirety of the festival and posting it in record time – a massive gift for artists, audience, and the festival itself.

Next, a shout out to Alex and Bruce of I Die: You Die for once again MCing the festival and for weaving each artist into the greater Verboden narrative.

Lastly, thank you to the Verboden organizers for the countless hours put into the festival, there every step of the way before, during, and after the festival – from 9:00 am call times to 4:00 am tear downs. Roles seem arbitrary as everyone wore a multitude of hats at any given time.

This includes Mason McMorris (Ringfinger) as our production manager and graphic designer, Jeff Cancade (Devours) as our primary administrative assistant and logistics coordinator, Joey Malbon (Joey Chaos and The Ghosts) as the communications manager manning socials, web, and documentation, and lastly, Isku Katerwol (Total Chroma, Wire Spine) our festival director, founder, and friend, who dreamt up this crazy festival almost a decade ago.

This is only a partial list of those involved in the festival; to everyone else not listed, you are a star and we needed you.
